About campusology
This is the 2nd version of my "Campusology" blog here at TexAgs.com. The first blog was more of an "opinion" blog, however that is now gone. The original blog (and all its content) was lost during a "crash" of somekind, however, that is probably a good thing because I wasn't very good at keeping up with the blog or writing opinions that anyone cared about. There were a few other pieces on that blog (interviews, etc.) that were less opinionated in nature, and those features may still continue from time to time.
However, I am totally shifting the focus of the blog with this 2nd version. I have been fascinated with College Football Trophies (as well as rings and other rare collectibles of the sort) for a long time. I am not sure why this is a hobby of mine, but I really enjoy the "physical manifestation" of a championship as well as the "victory" itself.
A few years ago I noticed that A&M didn't do a very good job of displaying its football history (via its "hardware"). I noticed this after I had visited other universities and seen first-hand how they did their Trophy Displays. I have had full tours of the facilities and Trophy Displays at TCU, SMU, t.u., Oklahoma, LSU, New Mexico, Miami, Baylor, Rice, and a few others I can't remember. Most of these schools do an amazing job of displaying their trophies and I am personally of the opinion that Texas A&M could do a much better job.
At one point I started looking for certain trophies and could not find them. I asked around, and no one knew where they were located! So, at that time I decided to take it upon myself to inventory and photograph all the trophies (etc.) that I could find.
I have lists of the trophies I know we were given, and a list of ones that I know we were never given, as well as a list of ones that I am not sure ever existed. I have spent many hours trying to track these items down and find answers, with very little success (but not without any).
In response to my opinion that our "Championship History" could be better displayed, I figured the best way to do that was online. So.....this blog was "re-created" for the purpose. I have many photos that are not up yet, but I will try to get them up as fast as I can.
Like I said, I have spent many hours researching the history of these trophies and feel pretty well versed about them. However, I am always looking for more information, so if you find something, or know something, please email me and let me know at Aggie99 AT AggieNetwork DOT com! (Also, please don't hesitate to email me if you see anything on this site that you feel may needs to be corrected.)
Thanks, and enjoy the "Virtual Trophy Room!"

List of Trophies that I know A&M received at some point (because I know the trophy was actually given out), yet I have not been able to locate:
- 1998 Bednarik Award - "Best Defensive Football Player" - Dat Nguyen
(It is a safe assumption that Dat Nguyen has this trophy in his own personal possession. However, it is common practice for the schools to end up with a second copy of the trophy for display purposes. If A&M has ever received a Bednarik for display, I have not been able to locate it.)
